There is nothing worse than waking up and feeling unfocused and unmotivated, well that happened to me yesterday morning. How to Get Ants On The Run!

Easy, just a few drops of Peppermint essential oil. I came home yesterday to find my bench top crawling with ants. I just dropped a few drops of Peppermint essential oil amongst them and watched them scatter. Next time I wipe my bench top I will add a drops of Peppermint oil to keep them at bay. NO CHEMICALS, NO TOXINS, an uplifting smell and safe for children and animals. “How good it that”? (I suggest that you try the oil on an area of your bench top that is out of sight to make sure it will not leave a mark.)

You can also fill a spray bottle with water and add 10 to 15 drops of peppermint oil. Spray this mixture in the areas around your home where ants gather. Don’t forget to spray the garbage containers.

What has chicks got to do with essential oils?

One of the everyday things that I love to do is wander down to the chook house and collect the eggs. It is so ‘in touch’ with nature and brings back the wonderful memories as a child staying with my Nana in Bucklands Beach, New Zealand. This morning not only were there 5 beautiful fresh eggs but one little perfect white chick and a very proud mother.

One of the ways I use Young Living Essential Oils is to place about 4 drops of Thieves essential oil blend in the chooks drinking water. This helps to keep them worm free and deters leg scale. Also after cleaning out their nesting boxes I spray the surfaces with Thieves Household Cleaner and leave it to dry and they reward me with beautiful fresh eggs. How Good is That!

Obviously it won’t do them any harm as Thieves is a 100% pure therapeutic oil blend.

My family and I spent 12 days in Vietnam to attend my son’s wedding to Phuong; a great day and a beautiful wedding. It’s an amazing place and everything is so cheap and the people are lovely and so adaptable. They have so many different ways to create their income. The down side was, when we got home we found my car fill of mould. Every surface was covered and it smelt bad. Obviously a leakage somewhere. Not a nice task to undertake. I wiped down all the inside of the car with a damp rag to get rid of most of the surface mould and then left the car open to dry out. Once the car was dry I vacuumed it through out and sprayed all the surfaces, including the fabric seats, with diluted Thieves Household Cleaner. I then left the car to dry out again. (Thank you Sunshine!) The final touch was a few drops of Purification essential oil sprinkled around to absorb the odor. No sign of the mould reoccurring and the car feels like her old self once again.

Thinking Outside The Box

I finally got around to painting the inside of my home. Not a job to take lightly as I knew that it would take me forever to complete. I always put off anything that has the word ‘chemical’ attached to it because it either means a headache or that horrible feeling of ‘sickness’. I tried wearing a mask which helped but then came up with the idea of putting a few drops of Purification Essential Oil on the mask. Wow!, what a difference! I was immediately in a different space, surrounded by of all the lovely blends in Purification……. Citronella, Lemongrass, Lavandin, Rosemary, Melaleuca and Myrtle. Try it next time when you are working in a chemical environment. I also diffused Purification and Lemon essential oil in the room, to help clear the room of the paint fumes. I still haven’t finished all the painting but it will still be there when the weather is cooler.

Have you every jumped out of bed running?

Have you every jumped out of bed running, with a mission. Well I did this morning. Why? all because of a conversation at our coffee group yesterday morning. Someone suggested using a nylon pantyhose to clean the shower glass. Yes, I do have a life but, sometimes things just have to be done.

Out with my Thieves Household Cleaner spray (already diluted according to the instructions) and a pair of nylon pantyhose. Mind you I had to search for the pantyhose which also lead me to sorting out my sock drawer as well. Job well done I thought. It’s amazing how many socks I had that were ‘past it’ ….. back to cleaning. I sprayed and wiped the shower glass and then poured water over it and let it dry. From there it was the mirror, I also sprayed and wiped it and left it to dry. I made the mistake, or was it? to check the bathroom cupboard, yes you guessed it!. After all the rain and humidity mould was on the move. The cupboard was emptied and sprayed with Thieves Household Cleaner, along with the bottles and bits and pieces. I was on a roll…the floor and toilet got a going over as well. I left my bathroom smelling fresh and clean and only used ONE PRODUCT.

One product, no headaches, no inflamed sinuses, no fumes, no toxins and I was also getting the benefits of the essential oils used in Thieves Household Cleaner. I felt great.
